Hambo Hoedown #28 - Sketch

For this week's Hambo Hoedown we had to follow a sketch.  I always thought having to follow a sketch diagram would be easy because the layout was decided for you and all you had to do was concentrate on the design.  I'm finding that isn't really true.  I spent a lot of time moving things around and not really being happy with the design and color I chose for the layout (I kept wanting to change the layout).  You can see the sketch design here.  Since I entered the Hoedown last week I received the new "Hedgehog" digi file to use for this week's Hoedown from Hambostamps. 

I used the Cuttlebug Embossing folders for the background on the card and the flowers.  The flowers were embossed on the ColorCore cardstock (core'dinations) and then sanded to make the flowers appear.  The Hedgehog was colored with Copic markers.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog.

Hambo Hoedown - A True Rebel

It's time for the Hambo Hoedown.  This week I received the Rebel digi image and instructions that we had to use stitching.  So far all of my stitching has been by hand.  My husband bought me the craft Pixie sewing machine last Christmas and I haven't taken it out of the box yet.  I'm a bit intimidated by it since I do not know how to use a sewing machine.  This is a personal challenge I need to tackle.  So I got out my needle and thread and hand stitched the rebel flag which is paper pieced.
