Sing your Art Out

Hi and Welcome to "Sing Your Art Out" sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today Hambo friends, customers and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict song titles! It could be a favorite song or just a song that was fun to design using Hambo stamps.  If you arrived at my blog from Karin's you are in the right place.  If not, then you might want to start back at the beginning at the Hambo Blog to make sure you are eligible for the blog hopper prize. I just love the digital stamps because they are so versatile and you can shrink or enlarge them to fit your project.  I used the Storefront digi and the Wee Doggie digi for my card front and colored them using my Copics Markers.  The Hambo Pet Shop title was computer generated and the little birds are also a Hambo Stamp but has been retired. I cut out the store front window and replaced it with clear acetate.  I drew the window background and then put the doggie behind the acetate.  I used pop up dots to make the window and doggie three-dimensional (not sure you can really see this in the picture).

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #95 - A Blast from the Past

A "Blast from the Past" was the title of this week's challenge at Kraftin Kimmie stamps, thye wanted us to reach back into our bin or drawer and pull out some of the first stamps we purchased from Kraftin' Kimmie. The first 2 stamps I purchased were from the Moonlight Whispers Collection (designed by the awesome Annie Rodrigue) and they were Emelia and Josephine.  I like them both, and since I had recently used Josephine on an anniversary card I just sent I decided to choose Emelia.

The map background paper is from DCWV (Travel stack) and the brown scallop is Karen Foster "Vintage" set. I  used the Nestabilities inverted scallop circle die and a Tim Holtz/Sizzix embossing folder.  I colored Emelia and the airplanes with my Copics Markers and attached her to the card using pop dots to make her stand out alittle.  I hope you enjoy the card.

Hambo Hoedown Challenge - Fall Colors

This week Monica from Hambo Stamps was trying to get us ready for fall.  The challenge was to create a project using whatever colors we think of when we hear the word "Autumn" or "Fall".  The digi file I received this week was a set of flowers, so with my colors in mind I started my project.  When I think of flowers I think of bugs and I have some great bug stamps that I purchased from Hambo stamps over the years.  I couldn't resist adding a few bugs to the flowers (of course colored with fall colors).

In addition to the set of flowers digi, I also used the Tiny bee, Wee bee, Caterpillar and Cool snail.  You can find the Tiny bee and Wee bee under the Bugs category at Hambostamps.com.  I think the caterpillar and cool snail have been retired (I have had them for awhile).  I colored the image with my Copics markers and I used the Quickutz grass die.  I hope my colors remind you of fall. Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #94-Let's go to the office

The challenge this week was to use office supplies on our creations.  As I am already embellishment challenged this one almost scared me off.  Then it hit me, that's why they call it a challenge, so I gave it a try.  Once I got started it didn't seem so bad, I think I might have gone a little overboard, but I had fun.  I used Brigette (another awesome Kraftin' Kimmie stamp) as she is one of my favorites and after a hard day at the office what's better then a nice relaxing bubble bath?  On my creation you will find a white file folder label, some staples, purple rubber bands, labels made with the Dymo label maker (I forgot how much fun this label maker is), clips and some brads.  A bit much with the supplies??  Thanks for checking out my blog.

Hambo Hoedown - Another Dimension

What a fun challenge, and what a great Alien Spaceship digi.  I received the Alien Spaceship digi from Hambo Stamps to use in their "Another Dimension" challenge.  The rules for the challange are no flat cards and add some dimension to your project. When I think of aliens I think of the desert so this was a great opportunity to use the Mesa stamp also from Hambo stamps.

For the background I used a brayer and the Kaleidacolor ink pad (desert heat).  I bounced the brayer on the paper in a semi circle pattern (over and over again) until I got the color intensity that I wanted.  I shrunk the Alien spaceship digi to various sizes so it looked like there is a whole army of aliens heading through the desert. I colored the aliens with Copic markers and attached to the card with different thickness foam dots to add dimension. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #93- Michele's Sketch

For this week's Kraftin' Kimmie challenge #93 we had a sketch (from Michele) to follow.

I have this wonderful winter themed stamp of Miles called Shovelling Miles designed by artist Steven Leary that I've been dying to use and when I saw this sketch I knew this was the time.  You can't very well send a winter themed card to a friend in the middle of summer (they'll think you've lost your mind), but you can enter it in a challenge. When I looked at the circle on this sketch, my mind saw a large snowflake and I knew what I wanted to do for this challenge. 

The stamp is called Shovelling Miles and I just love his expression, it's actually the same expression I have during winter.  I colored Miles with my Copic markers and added some white flock to represent snow. The large snowflake diecut is from the Cricut cartridge "Winter Lace". The trim piece across the card was embossed using the Cuttlebug "snowflake" embossing folder and then I used the lacey border punch from Stampin' Up. The expressions is from Cat's Pajamas and the red glove brad from Eyelet Outlet. Thanks to Michele for a great sketch! 

Hambo Hoedown - Back to School Challenge

It's that time of the year, summer's coming to a close and kids are heading back to school.  This week I received a pencil-digi from Hambo stamps for the challenge.  We need to create a school themed design using the primary colors (red, blue and yellow).  The pencil digi is so cool, I had so many ideas running through my head.  I shrunk it, I copied it and then I made it larger, I had fun with this digi.  I finally decided on this card.  The book used on the background is also a Hambo stamp.

You can't tell from the picture but I cut out the body of the pencil so the red, yellow and blue color is actually on the inside of the card.  This picture shows this better.

Then finally the inside of the card includes a simple Welcome to the 6th Grade.  I made this card for my granddaughter who will be starting 6th grade this week.  I remember the start of kindergarten, then 1st through 5th grade has just been a blur.  .

This was a fun challenge and I know my granddaughter will enjoy this card.
